What changed

Why most schedulers stopped posting to Facebook groups

Social media schedulers post through Meta’s Graph API, the official door for third-party apps. On April 22, 2024, Meta removed group publishing from that door for every app.4 Pages, Instagram and other networks kept working. Facebook groups did not.

    Meta ships Graph API v19.0 and announces that the Groups API, including the publish_to_groups permission, will be removed.

    Group publishing is removed from every API version. Every scheduler that posted to groups through the API loses it the same day.

  3. After the cut

    Vendors drop automatic group posting. Buffer, Publer, SocialBee, Vista Social and Social Champ send a phone reminder instead and leave the posting to you. Sendible, Zoho Social and dlvr.it remove groups entirely.

Which tools can post to Facebook groups?

As of October 2026, 4 of the 18 tools we checked publish to the Facebook groups you have joined: PilotPoster, MaherPost, NinjaPoster and SafePoster. All are browser-based. API schedulers lost group publishing on April 22, 2024, and none of them post to groups you joined; at most they send a reminder and leave the posting to you.

Can any social media scheduler post to Facebook groups automatically in 2026?

Not through Meta’s API. Meta removed group publishing from the Graph API on April 22, 2024, for every app. Tools that still post automatically, like PilotPoster, publish from your own logged-in browser instead of the API.

Why did Buffer, Hootsuite and other schedulers stop posting to groups?

Because they publish through Meta’s Graph API, and Meta removed the publish_to_groups permission from every API version on April 22, 2024. Each vendor then chose a fallback: phone reminders, admin-only group features, or dropping groups altogether.

Can Buffer or Hootsuite post to Facebook groups?

Buffer sends a reminder for group posts and you publish them yourself. Hootsuite ties group scheduling to group admins. Neither publishes to groups you joined as a member. PilotPoster does, from your own browser.

Can Meta Business Suite post to Facebook groups?
