What actually happens when a post goes out
Your own browser, your own session
The extension runs inside Chrome and posts through the same logged-in Facebook session you already use. Nothing routes through our servers or a restricted API.
One group at a time, with randomized delays
Posts go out individually, spaced with human-like, randomized intervals, the same pattern a person posting by hand would produce.
Safety Autopilot enforces your own limits
Set a posts-per-hour cap and a minimum delay once. If a specific group starts rejecting posts repeatedly, Safety Autopilot pauses that group for a cooldown instead of letting a campaign keep retrying it, and logs the decision so you can see what happened.
Unique content per group
Spintax or AI variation gives each group a different-looking version of the same post, instead of identical text that reads as spam across a dozen communities.
What we can promise, and what we can't
Organic, browser-based posting with randomized delays is the safest approach available for reaching groups you've joined, but it is not a guarantee. Facebook's automated systems change without notice, account age and history affect what limits apply to you, and posting too fast to too many groups can still trigger restrictions regardless of which tool you use. We recommend generous delays, a slow warm-up on new accounts, and pausing if you see any warning from Facebook. Safety Autopilot exists to enforce that discipline automatically, but the responsibility for sensible pacing is shared between the tool and how you configure it.
What PilotPoster refuses to do
No password sharing
The extension never sends your Facebook password to our servers. It uses your own logged-in session, the same way any browser extension you already trust does.
No cloud posting
Posts never go out from a server pretending to be you. Everything runs from your own browser and your own IP address.
No "100% safe" promise
Randomized delays and Safety Autopilot reduce risk. We say “reduces risk,” never “100% safe,” because no third-party tool can make that guarantee on a platform it doesn't control.
No bypassing group rules
PilotPoster posts to groups you've already joined and been approved into. It doesn't get you into groups, evade admin approval, or override a group's own posting rules.
Why cloud schedulers can't reach groups anymore
Facebook's official Graph API once included a publish_to_groups permission that let approved apps post to a group on a member's behalf. Meta removed that permission in April 2024. Since then, no tool built on the public Graph API, including Buffer, Hootsuite, and every other cloud scheduler, can publish to a group you've merely joined.
That's the reason PilotPoster works differently. Instead of calling a restricted API, it drives your own logged-in browser session, the same interface you'd use to post by hand, which is unaffected by that permission change. It's also why "safe" and "API-based" aren't the same claim: browser-based posting mimics a human, which is a different risk profile than an app calling a server-side endpoint.
Will I get banned for posting to too many groups?
PilotPoster protects your account by posting organically from your own browser, exactly as if you were posting by hand, with randomized delays between each group. Posting too fast to too many groups can still trigger Facebook limits, so we recommend sensible intervals and a gradual warm-up on new accounts.
Is PilotPoster safe for my Facebook account?
It never uses the restricted Facebook API. Posts go out through your own real browser session with human-like pacing, which is the safest available way to automate group posting, though no third-party tool can guarantee Facebook will never change its rules.
Does PilotPoster ever pause posting on its own?
Yes, if you turn on Safety Autopilot. It applies the pacing limits you set, and if a specific group starts rejecting posts repeatedly, it can automatically skip that group for a cooldown period rather than keep hammering it.
Can PilotPoster get me into groups I haven't joined?
No. It only posts to groups you've already joined and been approved into. It doesn't request access on your behalf or evade a group's admission process.

- Post one group at a time, never in a burst, even if the tool lets you go faster
- Use a randomized delay between posts, not a fixed interval Facebook can pattern-match
- Warm up a new or recently restricted account slowly, fewer groups and longer delays for the first two weeks
- Vary the wording per group. Identical text across many groups is the fastest way to get throttled
- Keep links out of the post body. Add them as a first comment instead
- Watch for a group that repeatedly rejects your posts and stop targeting it rather than retrying
- Never share your password with a tool that asks for it. Legitimate browser extensions use your existing session
- Pause everything for a day if Facebook shows any checkpoint, warning, or unusual activity prompt
