Facebook text formatter

A Facebook text formatter lets you write a full post and style only the parts that matter. Paste your post, highlight a word to make it bold, italic, monospace or struck through, turn lines into a list, and copy it with your line breaks intact.

Style the selected text

Turn selected lines into a list

Highlight words, then pick a style. With nothing highlighted, the style applies to the line your cursor is on. Line breaks stay exactly where you put them.

How do I format text in a Facebook post?

Facebook posts have no bold or italic buttons, so paste your post into a text formatter, highlight the words you want to style and pick a style. The tool swaps them for styled Unicode letters that Facebook shows as typed. Add bullets for lists, then copy and paste the finished post.

How to use the Facebook text formatter

Write or paste the whole post, then format it piece by piece.

  1. Paste your post

Drop your full post into the editor. A sample is there to show how it works; clear it when you are ready.

  2. Highlight and style

Select a word or line and click Bold, Italic, Bold italic, Sans bold, Monospace or Strikethrough. Plain text removes a style.

  3. Add lists and tidy up

Select a few lines and pick a bullet (•, ✅, 👉) or a numbered list. Clean spacing removes double spaces and extra blank lines.

  4. Check the preview and copy

The group post preview shows your line breaks and styles. Click Copy post and paste it into Facebook.

Format for scanning, not decoration

People scroll group feeds fast, so formatting should help them find the point. Bold the one line that matters, usually the offer or the question. Strike through an old price to show a deal. Turn features into a short list. Leave everything else plain, so the bold line actually stands out.

Example: before and after

Before: one block of text about a cleaning special, with the price buried in the middle. After: a bold headline (“๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฐ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—น”), the old price struck through next to the new one, three bullet points for what is included, and a plain last line asking people to comment. Same words, far easier to read. Sample post. Names and prices are examples.

Formatting habits that work in groups

  • Bold one line per post, not every sentence
  • Keep links, phone numbers and hashtags plain
  • Use lists for three to five short points
  • Leave one blank line between paragraphs
  • Put the question or offer in the first two lines
  • Check the post on your phone before you share

FAQ

Text formatter questions

How do I bold one word in a Facebook post?

Paste your post into the formatter, highlight the word and click Bold. The tool swaps those letters for bold Unicode characters and leaves the rest of the post plain. Copy the whole post and paste it into Facebook, where the bold word shows exactly as it does in the preview.

How is this different from the Facebook font generator?

The font generator styles a short phrase in a dozen looks at once. The text formatter is for writing a whole post: you paste the full text, style only the words you choose, add bullet or numbered lists, tidy the spacing, and copy the finished post in one go.

Will my line breaks and lists stay in place on Facebook?

The formatter keeps every line break exactly where you put it, and bullets are ordinary characters, so they copy and paste like any other text. Check the preview, then paste into the Facebook post box. Clean spacing removes extra blank lines first, so the post looks tidy in the feed.

Can I remove bold or italic formatting later?

Yes. Highlight the styled text and click Plain text. The tool turns bold, italic, monospace and strikethrough characters back into normal letters, so you can restyle a word or clean up a post someone else formatted. It also helps before you reuse text in search or hashtags.

Is styled Unicode text accessible?

Use it lightly. Some screen readers read styled characters awkwardly, and styled words do not match normal search. Bold one headline, a price or a key word, and keep phone numbers, addresses and hashtags plain. That way the post stands out and stays easy for everyone to read.
