What is a Facebook group scheduler?

A Facebook group scheduler is a tool that publishes posts to Facebook groups at times you choose. Facebook’s built-in scheduler works only in groups you admin. Browser-based schedulers like PilotPoster also post to groups you joined as a member, wherever members are allowed to post.

Native scheduling vs a group scheduler tool

Group admins can schedule posts natively from the composer in their own group. That covers one group at a time, and only groups you run. Most businesses market in groups other people run, so they need a scheduler that posts from their own account into groups they joined. Since group publishing left Meta’s API in 2024, those schedulers work from your browser.

Why it matters for businesses

A scheduler turns group marketing from a daily chore into a weekly plan. Write once, choose your group lists and times, set posts to repeat, and you stay visible in every group while you get on with your work.

What a good group scheduler does

PilotPoster does all of this. You can schedule from any device, including your phone; posts publish through Chrome on your computer, and anything due while it is off goes out as soon as you are back online. See the Facebook group scheduler.

  • Schedules to groups you joined, not only groups you admin.
  • Recurring schedules (daily, weekly or custom) with an end date.
  • A content calendar view of everything planned.
  • A unique version per group and human-like delays.
  • Reports showing which groups posted and why any failed.

FAQ

Common questions

More answers in the full FAQ.

Can you schedule posts in a Facebook group you are not an admin of?

Not with Facebook’s own tools. Native scheduling only works in groups you admin. To schedule posts in groups you joined as a member, you need a browser-based scheduler like PilotPoster, which posts from your own account, one group at a time, in groups where members are allowed to post.

Why can’t most social media schedulers post to Facebook groups?

They publish through Meta’s Graph API, and Meta removed group publishing from the API for all versions on April 22, 2024. API-based schedulers can still post to Facebook Pages, but not into groups. PilotPoster posts where API tools can’t: from your own logged-in browser, to every group you have joined.
