What does a Facebook post mockup generator do?

It renders a realistic preview of a Facebook profile or group post, with a custom name, avatar, photo, and engagement counts, then exports it as a downloadable PNG. It's a design and preview tool, not a way to actually publish to Facebook.

How to use the Facebook post generator

Fill in the fields on the left and watch the preview update as you type.

  1. Pick profile or group post

For a group post, add the Group name and choose public or private. For a profile post, choose who can see it.

  2. Add your name, avatar and time

Type the name to show, upload an avatar, and set the Time posted, such as “3h” or “Jul 4”.

  3. Write the post and add a photo

Paste your Post text and upload a Post image. Long text shows a “See more” cut, just like the real feed.

  4. Set the numbers and download

Enter reactions, comments and shares, choose light or dark, then download the PNG.

What to check in your preview

Look at the post the way a busy member would. Is the point clear before the “See more” cut? Does the photo crop well, or is the important part cut off? Does the post look friendly next to your name and avatar, or like an ad? If something feels off in the mockup, it will feel off in the group too, and it is much easier to fix now.

Good uses for a post mockup

  • Show a client a post before you schedule it
  • Compare two openings side by side
  • Check how a photo crops in the feed
  • Plan a week of posts as images in one folder
  • Make a how-to graphic for your own group
  • Test a dark mode version of a post

From preview to real posts

A mockup shows you one post. Real group marketing means posting that message to many groups, on a schedule, with wording that suits each one. That is exactly what PilotPoster does. It publishes to every group you have joined, organically and on schedule, and keeps a clear record of every post so you always know where your message landed. See how to post to multiple Facebook groups at once.

Happy with the preview? Post it for real

PilotPoster takes the post you just previewed and publishes it to every group you choose, with a different version for each group using spintax or AI rewrite. If you want posts written for you each day, the Facebook AI auto poster plans, writes and publishes them for you too, as an upgrade you can turn on anytime from your dashboard.

FAQ

Post generator questions

What is a Facebook post mockup used for?

People use post mockups to preview copy before it goes live, show a client how a post will look, build graphics for a portfolio or case study, or plan a week of posts. Seeing the post in a realistic frame makes it easier to spot a weak opening or a photo that crops badly.

Is this a real Facebook post generator that posts to Facebook?

This free tool creates a realistic-looking image of a post for previews and planning. To publish real posts to every Facebook group you have joined, on autopilot, use PilotPoster.

Can I make a group post mockup, not just a profile post?

Yes. Switch to the group post option to add a group name next to the poster’s name, matching how Facebook shows posts inside groups. You can also set the group as public or private, choose a light or dark theme, and set your own reaction, comment and share counts.

Is my uploaded photo saved anywhere?

No. Everything, including any avatar or photo you upload, stays in your browser and is used only to draw the preview and the PNG download. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and closing the tab clears it. That makes it safe to try out client photos before a post is approved.

Can I use a mockup as a fake review or fake proof?

Please do not. A mockup is for previews, planning and design. Presenting a made-up post as a real customer comment or real result misleads people and can break Facebook’s rules and consumer protection laws. Use real screenshots, with permission, when you share social proof.
